Perfumes Selection Tips For Men / Re: Blind buying Epices Marine?
« on: July 19, 2018, 07:01:41 am »
To be sure Epice Marine is the worst (or least enjoyable) one in the Hermessence line! If you want a really great one for your husband, take Poivre Samarcande, this one's divine!

just outside of where I live here in Norway, there's a bike track that have a lot of old tree logs stacked along the way. they are also covered in tar (or greasy oil), like the old railroad tracks logs if anyone get the vibe i'm thinking of.

now, I've always loved that special kind of tree/tar-smell and recently I've wondered; are there any perfumes that captures this type of smell?

i bought a small bottle of birch tar oil, but that was too harsh (missing the woody scents i smell from the log)

i also have Black by CdG, but that's much more smoky smelling (like a burnt match)

any suggestions for a perfume that reflects this special combination of tar and wood?

Looking for a cheaper alternative. One that is almost identical. I've seen the TV perfume oil roll ons on eBay, has anyone tried those? I appreciate any suggestions.

Initially I gave myself an approximate 40 limit, now I'm at 49 so put a few lesser liked scents on ebay.

Do other people give themselves limits on here?

Congratulations!   ;)

Yes, I also reward myself with perfume if I've accomplished something great or reached some sort of goal.

I really like it; to me, itís an interesting orange-blossom scent. Very unisex- my sister actually used to wear it!

Exactly! I actually sprayed a little on my female friend because I thought she could easily pull it off, which she did!

I feel like CK One is underrated, I get way more compliments wearing it than anything else.

Great idea Marouane, thank you so much  :)

Perfume for business ??? all the ones above 200$ are good for business time  >:D

Is this juice really that popular? My Nordstroms Rack has like a hundred gift sets on sale there for months.

Popularity fluctuates based on demographic. I donít think this is quite (nor ever will be) as popular as Sauvage, but the scent is unique enough for my liking.

Vintage was moderate at best. 4-6 hours.

Interesting. If that's the case, I might not bother buying one of the vintage minis I've seen for sale on eBay, and just go ahead and buy a FB off FragranceNet.

Hi and welcome @alfonso  8)

If you find a good offer Alexandre.J Legacy Black cold effect fragrance with good performance (much stronger than the SMW which I also love) but way too overpriced. You pay basicaly the handmade bottle. I wish they could put this liquid into a simple glass bottle.. gorgeous aroma. I'll also buy it again if I find a good & logical offer. I miss it.

General Discussion / Re: The most modern fragrance note

It is my understanding that Oud has been around for a long time, though it has a breakthrough in the designer realm (probably there's synthetic ouds with greater quality now)!

I'd say the trendiest notes today are: Iris, Ambroxan, Oud and Tonka... there's some that are adding Pear but can't say it's a trend

I happen to be a patchouli lover but I have a problem with anosmia and this plant.

All Atelier fragrances are lovely and very well formulated so even if this particular one doesn't rock your boat it will be an interesting olfactory adventure!

I hope you like it!

Thank  you for writing !

It wasnt cheap , and , as always, I jumped on a big bottle, just in case it's good !

it arrived today, and than God, it is a nice one !  The base brings indeed some Patchouli, but not dominating . The top and middle notes are gorgeous ! I especially love the anise and mint , such a delicious combo !  ;D

Atelier Cologne Mistral Patchouli

I don't know what possessed me last night, I was feeling blue I guess, and I blindly ordered this one after reading some interesting reviews. I am NOT a patchouli lover in general, but people said this was the patchouli for people who don't love patch ... will I like to ?
